Objective To investigate the safety of invasive prenatal diagnostic procedures of prenatal diagnosis for twins and its significance. Method This study retrospectively analyzed the 174 twin pregnancies who took invasive prenatal diagnostic procedures guided by ultrasound in Guangdong Women and children’s hospital from 2011-01-01 to 2014-02-08.The indications, results and outcomes of invasive prenatal diagnostic procedures were analyzed. Results ①Totally 283 fetus were examined, and there were 29 abnormal results.?The abnormal detection rate was 10.2% (29/283).There were 15 severely abnormal results. The rate was 5.3% (15/283). ②The fetal loss rate within two weeks after the procedure were 0.0%(0/7)、1.3%(2/149)、0.0%(0/18)respectively in the different group of chorionic villi sampling group /mniocentesis group / cordocentesis group. The total fetal loss rate were 14.3%(1/7)、3.4%(5/149)、0.0%(0/18)respectively. Conclusions Invasive prenatal diagnostic procedures can find fetus with congenital abnormality effectively. Doctors should advice twin pregnancies who had indications to take invasive prenatal diagnostic procedure after warning relative risks.
